Get Ready! For 2016, we’re headed back to beautiful Vermont! Our prior tours in Vermont were among our most popular tours, so if you’re lucky enough to be part of this small group, you’re in for a real treat!
(These tours DO sell out quickly)
Your Rolling Thru Vermont experience will include the iconic experiences of this picture postcard state. We’ll guide you along winding routes up and over scenic Green Mountain gaps with stunning views, followed by gliding down into lush green valleys dotted with church steeples and covered bridges, and along a ribbon of smooth pavement and bridges connecting a chain of islands giving you incredible lake and mountain views left and right. Every day, you’ll enjoy gourmet lunches and dinners, including at a 180 year old classic hotel, an elegant 109 year old luxury inn and aboard a cruise ship for a wonderful sunset dinner cruise.
You’ll stay in a highly regarded full service hotel, nestled on the shores of Lake Champlain between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains of New York. Your host town, Burlington, is a gem of a small city, often ranked among the best small cities in the U.S., and you’re going to see why. You’ll love it.
When you check in, a Rolling Thru Vermont representative will be there to facilitate the process and make sure everything goes smoothly. You’ll receive your Rolling Thru Vermont gift, with credentials, route maps (in case you decide to ride on your own).
After freshening up, join us for a cocktail and a welcome dinner, in the Diamond Ballroom. It’s a perfect time to make new friends as well as meet your tour guides, and hear about the highlights of the upcoming adventure.
Friday – Island Hopping, Lake Views and an 1833 Inn
After a good night’s rest, enjoy the delicious included breakfast at the hotel. We’ll then meet in the parking lot for a brief review of the day’s ride with your guides.
You’ll ride north, along a chain of islands in the middle of Lake Champlain, a 130 mile long jewel of a lake, with stunning lake and mountain views throughout. You’ll stop at a unspoiled, classic Vermont lakeside general store, then on to the mountains. You’ll wind your way up and over a classic Vermont mountain gap, then on down to the most famous Vermont village, Stowe. Lunch awaits you in a grand inn, located in the middle of the village, and the meal we’ve arranged for you matches your stunning morning of riding. The Italian feast includes, Chicken Parmesan over pasta, Grilled Filet of Salmon w/white wine caper butter cream sauce, Chicken Marsala w/sauteed mushrooms, Tortellini w/Arugula & red peppers, Spinach Ravioli w/sun-dried tomato sauce, Assorted salad and to finish, mini Italian desserts.
You’ll have time to explore Stowe on foot or by motorcycle, followed by a relaxing, scenic ride back to Burlington, including a stop a popular cider press with fresh cider and donuts await.
That evening, we encourage you to explore Burlington’s award winning waterfront, and explore the pedestrian streets lined with cafes, boutique shops, bistros and restaurants. It’s a wonderful way to spend several hours, and gives you a moment to yourself. You’ll be on your own, but we’ll provide you a map of attractions you won’t want to miss, and as always, we’ll be nearby should you need us. And, a free hotel shuttle is available to bring you to/from any downtown location.
Saturday – Green Mountain Gaps, Covered Bridges & Sunset Cruises
Get ready for the highlight day of the weekend. You’ll ride along the spine of the Green Mountains, going up and over 2 of Vermont’s best high gaps and through several covered bridges. You’ll love the beautiful winding pavement, with unparalleled views. Have your cameras ready!
You’ll arrive in a Vermont village that time forgot, where you’ll dine in a classic 100 year old Inn. You’ll enjoy a delicious lunch including a choice of either Roast Beef w/au jus & Horseradish Cream, Brie and Pear Stuffed Chicken Breast w/Pear Reduction, or Seafood Stuffed Filet of Sole w/Tomato Beurre Blanc.
Following lunch, you’ll ride through gorgeous rural Vermont, with the rolling farm fields and mountain ranges that inspired us to create the first Rolling Thru America tour.
Later that evening, you’ll board a large cruise ship for a relaxing sunset dinner cruise. Located just down the street from the hotel, you can either ride or take the hotel shuttle to the boat. 2 ½ hours at sea, cruising among the islands of “the 6th Great Lake” on a private deck, you’ll feast on an amazing menu including a choice of Braised Short Ribs, Smashed Chicken, Cajun Spiced Salmon and Braised Portabella mushrooms. A delicious Peach Crisp will end this meal gracefully.
What a day!
A special Farewell Breakfast (included in your package) awaits you in the Ballroom. You’ll say goodbye to new and old friends, see photos from the trip, and will likely be thinking about your next Rolling Thru America tour.
