Join us in Virginia for some of the absolute best riding in the east coast. How good will this tour be? One of our biggest challenges was having too many incredible roads to choose from! Yes, it’s THAT good.

You’ll explore the Blue Ridge Parkway, along with many other routes that are (dare we say it?) even better, taking you on smooth winding roads along Virginia’s mountain ridges and through scenic valleys, past countless breathtaking views, and dining at stops that Rolling Thru America tours are famous for. And, your amazing hotel is located very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, making the Rolling Thru Virginia tour a motorcyclist’s paradise!

September 13-16, 2021

Monday- Welcome to Virginia

Your hotel is a grand historical landmark in the center of Roanoke, only minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. It’s gorgeous and beautifully located. Built in 1882, this Tudor-style hotel is on the National Register of Historic Places and has been restored to its original grandeur. From the antique-filled lobby to the renovated guest rooms, you’ll find a unique blend of historic charm and modern comforts during your stay.

Tuesday- Blue Ridge Parkway & a Four Star Lunch

Following a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you’ll ride some of the most scenic views and best roads in Virginia. Among the many highlights of the morning will be a road known locally as the “Blue Ridge Parkway Lookalike.” It’s a particularly scenic route, with numerous mountain and valleys views (we lost count).

Lunch awaits you at the incredible Omni Homestead Resort, a premier resort claiming to have been in operation for over 250 years! It’s hard to believe but 23(!) presidents have dined here. Wow.

The menu includes Seasonally Inspired Soup, Italian Cured Meats & Cheese, Panzanella Salad, Caesar Salad, Lemon Garlic Chicken Breast & Rosemary Roasted Potatoes, Pan Roasted Trout, Artichokes, Oven Dried Tomatoes, Olive, Capers,  Tortellini Pasta w/Sausage Ragout, Chocolate Cream Puffs, Tiramisu and much more.

Your afternoon ride will lead you in-and-out of more mountain ranges, ending on a particular highlight: Miles and miles of The Blue Ridge Parkway – every motorcyclist’s bucket list. You’ll ride along the mountain range’s ridgeline until you return to the hotel, where you’ll have a free night to explore beautiful downtown, Roanoke. What a first day!

Yesterday’s ride may be one of your best days in the saddle, and today may top it. There isn’t a section of today’s route that isn’t winding, scenic and stunning. After a delicious breakfast, you’ll spend your morning riding along a sinewy, pool table smooth stretch of unending valley road with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

You’ll stop in a quaint town with an old general store on your way to your lunch destination at Virginia’s premier vineyard. It’s elegant, relaxing and the food is wonderful. The menu includes Bistro Steak w/Wild Mushrooms Demi-Glace, Ginger and Blood Orange Quarter Chicken w/Wild Mushroom Risotto.

Could the day get better? Yes. After lunch, you’ll cap off your Rolling Thru Virginia trip by riding an entirely different section of the famous Blue Ridge Parkway. Get ready for over 200 overlooks, spectacular views, and unending riding nirvana. If ever you doubted the existence of God, this road may restore your faith.

Please Read: Too Much of a Good Thing?

We’re very excited about the Rolling Thru Virginia Tour. It’s going to offer the best riding we’ve have ever offered. Period. In fact, one of our best guides recently rode the route and said, “it’s absolutely incredible, and one of the roads is THE BEST road I’ve ever ridden.”

But, for some of you, there can be too much of a good thing. Really. This tour will involve back-to-back-to-back-to-back winding sections. Many of them. It’s like a lower altitude version of the Alps. They’re absolute bliss for most riders, but spending all day on winding (and beautiful) roads can be taxing, especially for some less-experienced riders or ones who get fatigued faster. And a lack of skill or a moment’s inattention can be highly problematic obviously.

So, in an abundance of caution, we want to share these options with you if you have any doubt:
*When possible, we’ll offer guided bypasses for some sections of the route on less twisty (not straight) roads. These will be guided, and still scenic, and will allow your mind a break from the repeated decision making that these (wonderful) roads require.
*If you’re simply not comfortable with the idea of back-to-back-to-back-to-back winding sections, you may want to reconsider this particular tour. Really. We always ride at a very reasonable pace and accommodate all of our riders’ skills, but if you suspect that your own skill set or mental stamina may not be up for this ride, then it’s worth second-guessing yourself for your own happiness or more importantly your well being.

It’s obviously better to be safe than sorry. If you have any questions, you can email Tabitha (tabitha@americade.com) and she ’ll answer all your questions.
