Think beautiful, scenic and relaxing.a-autumnal-edits
Today’s ride will take you along a beautiful meandering route alongside the Ottawa River and then the Gatineau River, followed by an ascent into the lowlands of the Laurentian Mountains. The early autumn views will be spectacular as we wind our way up through the foothills of the mountains, arriving at our charming lunch destination.

a-wakefield-mill-inn-quebec1Your lunch will be at a converted 19th-century flour mill on the banks of the Gatineau River, adjacent to picturesque waterfalls. The grounds are wonderful and very scenic, so take a moment to explore.

Here you’ll love their famed delicious cuisine and wonderful ambiance featuring open-hearth fireplaces, exposed timber beams, two solariums overlooking the falls, and a number of terraces affording excellent views.

explore the village. There are various restaurants on Rue Notre Dame where you can dine. Rue Notre Dame also houses some other places that you may want to explore, including Fromagerie Montebello (award-winning cheeses), Delice Champetre (homemade ice cream) and ChocoMotive (chocolate heaven).

Bonsoir. Be sure that your gas tank is full for tomorrow’s riding.

Wednesday – An Epic Ride and Fine Dining – Approx 195 miles.

Bonjour. Breakfast (included) will be served in the hotel again – You may want to have seconds because the ride you’re about to take will be among the best you’ve ever ridden.

Today’s route will take you deep into the heart of the Laurentian Mountains reaching the Mont Tremblant National Park, along routes that are considered by some to be better than the famed Deal’s Gap in North Carolina. There will be lots of winding, smooth pavement with gorgeous views. Our pace will be relaxed as we ascend into the mot-mathieu-dupuis_011mountains all morning long. We’ll make several stops along the way, giving you photo opportunities and moments to reflect on how good this day is.

You’ll be in the ski village of Mont Tremblant, which has a distinctly European flavor. You’ll swear you’ve arrived on another continent. We’ll cross-town via La Navette (a tram), gliding
over the colored tiled roofs of the village, giving you a wonderful view of the village and surrounding mountains. Our lunch (included) will be provided by a 4 Diamond rated

restaurant, providing extraordinary food in a warm, comfortable ambiance, sitting on the shores of Lac Tremblant.

Following lunch, your ride will be perhaps even better than your morning’s ride – Yep, it’s really that hi-rez-mont-tremblant-2good. We’ll descend throughout the early afternoon, giving you many more breathtaking views, eventually riding along side the Ottawa river on our way back to the Chateau Montebello.

At the end of the day, we will meet for dinner at the hotel with your new friends. You’ll reminisce about today’s ride, and share tales of your past rides, some of which will be true…
